Maria C. Corrado
About Maria
A person in recovery herself, with more than four decades of case management and counseling behind the work.
Maria is a person in SUD recovery herself, and she has spent more than four decades helping people carry heavy things. She began in Fort Lauderdale supervising case managers for people living with HIV/AIDS, many of them also struggling with alcohol and drugs, then continued that work in Pittsburgh as a senior case manager with the Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force.
From there she spent a decade as an inpatient therapist with Renewal Treatment inside the Department of Corrections, and later provided individual and group counseling at Clear Day Treatment, a short-term residential center for men and women, before returning to Renewal.
She joined Step By Step Support in January 2026. She works with substance use, mental health, family and relationship strain, and recovery maintenance, in individual and group sessions, using CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and whatever tools help a person make positive change.
