Individual, Couples & Family

The work is rarely just about one person in isolation.

Whether you come on your own, as a couple, or as a family, you stay with counselors who know your story instead of starting over somewhere new.

Individual, Couples & Family: what it is

Alongside the focused recovery and mental health work, the practice offers a full range of relationship and family counseling: individual therapy, couples and marriage counseling, family and parenting support, and co-dependency work.

Addiction, anger, and hard seasons rarely stay contained to one person. Working with the people around you, when it helps, is often what makes change hold.

People come to us for

A few of the areas this part of the practice covers:

  • Individual therapy for whatever you are carrying right now
  • Couples and marriage counseling, including communication and trust
  • Family and parenting support, and family conflict
  • Co-dependency, and learning to support a loved one without losing yourself

How we work on this together

We start with where you are and who needs to be in the room, then build from there. Sometimes that is just you; sometimes it is you and the people closest to you.

Telehealth is available when getting to the office is hard, so distance or a busy week does not have to stand between you and support.

The approach is the same throughout: meet you where you are, use the techniques that fit, and help you build the skills to keep moving forward.

What to expect

  • Start with a conversation

We talk about what you need and who needs to be part of it, then find the right format.

  • Individual, couples, or family

Whatever shape fits the work, including telehealth when getting to the office is hard.

  • Skills that hold

We meet you where you are and build the communication and coping skills that keep change in place.

Confidentiality

Counselors who know your story

Whatever you bring, you stay with people who know your history instead of starting over. What you share is private, within the limits the law and professional ethics require.

Common questions

About individual, couples & family

If your question is not here, just ask. There is no wrong question and no judgment in it.

Do you see couples and families, or just individuals?

Both. We offer individual, couples, marriage, family, and co-dependency counseling.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes. We can meet by secure video when getting to Mt. Washington is hard.

Can we start as a couple and add individual sessions, or the other way around?

Yes. We build the format around what the work needs, and it can change over time.

Do you help families affected by a loved one's addiction?

Yes. We work with families and loved ones, not only the person in recovery.
