Addiction Counseling
You do not have to wait until everything falls apart to ask for help.
Most people I work with carry something underneath the drinking or the using, and we work on both, at a pace you can live with.

What it is
For most people, substance use sits on top of something else: anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or a stretch of life that got too heavy to carry alone. Treating only the substance rarely holds. We work on what is driving it too.
Counseling with me is practical and steady. We set short, achievable goals so you feel real progress instead of being asked to fix everything at once. As things stabilize, we build the coping and life skills that keep you steady and start repairing the relationships that addiction strained.
You might recognize some of this
None of this means you have failed. It means it is worth a conversation.
- Missing work or school, or driving after drinking or using
- Damaged relationships, repeated legal trouble, or money spent faster than you can explain
- Hiding how much you use, or being told by people who love you that there is a problem
- Using more than you meant to, getting sick from it, or not being able to stop when you want to
- Losing interest in things that used to matter
How we work on this together
We start with a real conversation, not a checklist. I want to understand your history, what you have already tried, and what you actually want your life to look like.
From there we build a plan together. That can mean individual sessions, work on co-occurring anxiety or depression, family or couples sessions, and connecting you to the right level of care, including intensive outpatient and medication-assisted options like Suboxone when they fit.
I am DDAP licensed and have specialized in substance use since 1999, including with court-referred clients. You will be treated as an adult and a whole person the entire way through.
What to expect
- 1
A real conversation
We start by talking through your history, what you have already tried, and what you actually want your life to look like. No lecture, no checklist.
- 2
A plan built around you
Individual sessions, work on what is underneath the using, family or couples sessions, and a connection to the right level of care if you need more structure.
- 3
Steady, practical work
We set small goals you can actually hit, build coping and life skills, and start repairing what addiction strained.
Private, and free of judgment
What you share with me stays between us, within the limits the law and my professional ethics require. Whatever your history, there is no shame in this room, only the next step.
Common questions
About addiction counseling
If your question is not here, just ask. There is no wrong question and no judgment in it.
Do I have to be sober to start?
No. You do not need to have stopped, and you do not need to have it under control first. We meet you where you are and work from there.
Do you offer medication-assisted treatment like Suboxone?
Yes, I work with medication-assisted options like Suboxone where they fit, alongside counseling. We will talk about whether that makes sense for you.
What if I need more than weekly sessions?
I offer an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for people who need more structure, and I can connect you to the right level of care.
Do you work with families, not just the person using?
Yes. Addiction affects the whole household, and I work with families and loved ones, not only the person in recovery.
